Will this cost me anything?
No. There is no sign-up fee, no account maintainence fee, no credit card check, nothing. Participants will never have to pay for the basic service that ResearchChicago provides.

How are you different from market survey sites?
ResearchChicago is not a market survey site. Unlike other sites, you do not pay for signing up or for being part of our network. Legitimate companies will not ask you to pay them money to give your opinions. In fact, researchers will often pay you to take their surveys and participate in their experiments.

How will this service benefit me?
ResearchChicago keeps you notified of research opportunities around your campus and in the Chicagoland area. You can choose which research studies you want to participate in, knowing well in advance the payment, if any, received, the amount of time required, and the type of study/experiment.

Is my information secure?
Yes. ResearchChicago does not sell your information to third parties (see our Privacy Policy) and does not use your email address for anything other than communicating with you directly about the available research studies or other site related information. We use state-of-the-art SSL encryption to transmit your information to our servers and store it in secure databases. Your privacy is our priority.

When and how will I get paid?
Most studies provide monetary compensation. Most of the time you will get paid on the spot after the completion of the experiment. You will usually get paid in cash, but may sometimes be paid by check or gift card. This will depend on the type of study, amount of money, etc. Check with the particular study for details.

Will I have to participate in all of the studies that I am eligible for?
No. You can choose to do whatever studies you want, as many or as few as you want, as often as you want. There is no risk and no obligation.

Who will contact me if I am interested in a study?
You will be contacted by the researcher that is running that particular study. If you qualify for their study, they will contact you by whatever method you chose (email or phone). They will then schedule a mutually convenient time when you can do the study. Some researchers will allow you to schedule online.
