ResearchChicago: An Overview

In 100 Words Or Less...

ResearchChicago is a research recruitment service that caters to both participants and researchers. For participants, we actively advertise to people interested in participating in studies, collect demographic information and allow the participants to view and select studies that interest them. For researchers, we support the creation of studies, filtering by the aforementioned demographic information, direct advertising and a variety of other services so that researchers can promote their studies and manage the participants that sign up.

ResearchChicago and Participants

Participants can sign up for our service either online or over the phone. Signing up online is the preferred method and is secured by commercial-grade 128-bit SSL encryption. When signing up, participants can log in using a temporary password that has been emailed to them. Participants are also required to provide at least one phone number when signing up. This ensures that ResearchChicago has at least two methods to contact every participant.

Once they log in, participants can update extended demographic information, view all listed studies in the ResearchChicago system and register for studies that interest them. Participants can also choose to receive email notification when new studies are posted.

ResearchChicago and Researchers

Researchers also sign up with ResearchChicago online via a similar SSL-secured form. Researchers then have access to a complete research manager, including study creation, advertising management, participant management, researcher groups with shared access and many other features.

Researchers can specify a variety of information when creating studies, including study details, itemized demographic restrictions, compensation, password-enabled access restrictions, scheduling and more. After the study is posted and listed, the study manager will notify researchers when new participants have signed up and give researchers the opportunity to review basic information before approving and contacting the participant.
