Study Benefits
There are many benefits to listing a study with ResearchChicago, some obvious, some not. As our primary goal is connecting researchers and participants, we do everything we can to make sure that you reach as many people as possible.
Once your study is approved and your listing is paid for, your study will be listed on the ResearchChicago website for a predetermined amount of time. When this happens, participants can log into the site and view information about your study within the participant interface. They can then choose whether or not they wish to sign up.
Within 1-2 days of listing your study, ResearchChicago will email any participant in our database that definitely or possibly meets your specified criteria. Participants that meet all of your listed requirements are emailed first. After those participants receive their notification, we will email any participants that do not specify any demographic information that would exclude them from participating. This enables participants who choose not to specify demographic information to still receive information for studies for which they may be qualified.
Depending on the requirements specified for the study, the number of participants emailed is usually in the thousands.
Once a participant expresses interest in participating in your study, the participant is listed on your study's participant page. You will then be able to view information about that participant, including: their gender, approximate age, zip code, whether they have provided an email address, phone number or both and an explanation of why they are interested in participating.
If a participant has not provided a phone number or a reason for expressing interest, you can request that they provide this information before you approve them.
Once you have approved a participant (you can approve a set number based on the terms of your listing), you will receive that participant's name and contact information. You will then be able to record the contact status, follow-up status, appointment times and personal notes about that participant.
In addition to listing your study, you can choose to purchase a featured listing. A featured listing places your study on every ResearchChicago page and makes your study visible to everyone who visits the website, whether or not they are logged in.
If you choose to purchase a featured listing, your study will also be automatically listed in search engine results (Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc). Your study will piggyback on ResearchChicago's established search engine rankings and be visible to people searching the web for your study or similar studies. It usually takes 2-4 weeks for featured studies to be listed in search engines, depending on when each search engine re-indexes our website.
